About
Newhall

Newhall is the oldest community in the Santa Clarita Valley, with roots stretching back to the California oil boom of the late 1800s. The community played a significant role in early California history — it was near Newhall that gold was first discovered in California in 1842 at Placerita Canyon, six years before the famous Sutter's Mill strike. The area was also home to some of the first Western films ever produced.
